I grew up in Queens, NY where I lived with my parents and siblings until 2004 when my parents split up, I was relocated to Fl when I was 14. Being in a single parent household was hard so when I was 16 I got a job to help out with own finances so that I didn't have to rely on my mother and lessen the burden on her. I graduated New Dimensions HS in 2008 and then attended Florida Southern College where I got my BFA in Theatre in 2012. After graduation I worked 2 jobs consistently for a little over 3 years to just make ends meet. In 2016 I heard about Bernie Sanders, and he opened my eyes to what could be and Ive been fighting since.
Im running because like so many others 2020 was an extremely eye opening experience. The pandemic dragged into the light the problems with our healthcare system and income inequality. We've also seen how the criminal justice system works when you're a person of color. We saw the violence against black Americans at the hands of police. We saw that despite the screams of the people for Congress to finally do something, very very few people do and while the George Floyd Policing Act did pass the house, Im not confident it will end things. Ive decided enough is enough, I am tired of waiting around for someone to do something for us. Tired of waiting for our elected officials to step in and help. Help me fight!
