I believe that education and opportunity should be open to all, and I have dedicated my career to helping students achieve their dreams. I started one of the first retraining programs for laid-off industrial workers and have been on the ground with the local community since the 1980s, developing apprenticeship, job training, and workforce development programs that lead to high-paying jobs.

I taught Machine Technology at Laney College for 17 years, navigating complicated state funding with students’ interests in mind as I advocated for them at the college, district, and state levels. I understand how the colleges, the community, and local industry must work as a team to uplift students. In 2015, the California Industrial Technology Educators named me California Faculty of the Year, and in 2019 I was Faculty of the Year at Laney College.

I am asking for your support as an educator, problem solver, and experienced community advocate who wants to see Peralta and its students flourish.
