Jason is a 24-year law enforcement veteran who began his career with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in 1995 at the age of 21. Jason worked for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for a total of 14-years. While employed at the Sheriff’s Department, Jason worked as a Court Security Deputy, Field Training Officer, Assistant Shift Supervisor, Traffic Safety Deputy, Special Response Team Member and a large portion of his career was spent working with the most elite unit of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, The CAT Team (Community Action Team), where he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and supervised other CAT Team Deputies. Jason also worked as the Chief of Police in the Town of Eastover and as a Patrol Officer at the Columbia Police Department. While employed at the Columbia Police Department, Jason worked on the Pro-Active Community Enforcement Unit, Crime Prevention Unit and the Community Response Team. Jason also served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Police and was appointed as the Coordinator of the Mayor’s Security Detail, where he was assigned to City Hall and worked directly for the Mayor of the City of Columbia. Jason is currently the CEO of Affinity Solutions of South Carolina, which is a private process service and security consulting firm. Jason is currently completing a degree in Criminal Justice at Liberty University.
I am running for Sheriff because the crime rate in Richland County is unacceptable and it is time for change! I believe that with your help, we can make Richland County one of the safest counties in America!
