I am a former United States Navy Sailor. I served 7 years active duty and 2 years in the reserves. I was raised all over the world, having been a child of the military myself, and since having left the service I’ve decided to call Washington home.
I lived a sheltered life surrounded by the military, and to say I was naive to the issues that many people face in this country would not be a mistake. However, my eyes are open now. We have not seen results battling the issues at hand in our district; food insecurity, the opioid epidemic, criminal reform, to just name a few.
I believe it’s time to give the younger generation a voice, someone who can relate to them and stand up for them. It’s time to prove change can be effective, and I believe I am the person for the job.
