Education is the priority. Preparing students for jobs of the future; Now.

An American by birthright and Latino by cultural heritage. Vietnam Veteran, International Banking Consultant, Information Technology Mgr, Educational Presentor, Author, Community College Mentor, Educational Conference facilitator I am poised to bring my experience to the Board and  for our students. 


I began as a laborer when I was young working in the fields in East County in the cities of  Brentwood, Oakley, and south in Monterrey,  Gilroy, and Castroville. Made a choice at 17 to serve our country and was destined for Vietnam as part of the US Navy. I trained in the Advanced Electronics Program and worked on the U.S.S Enterprise supporting their computer and display systems. I was in STEM before STEM was cool. 

Corporate experience in retail, manufacturing, finance. Worked on emerging technology as part of research and development for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Have held senior information technology  at roles at General Motors, Hughes Aircraft, Sperry Univac, Niagara Envelope. Business management roles including risk analysis, policy development, regulatory reporting, budgeting and forecasting and consulting as a Global Relationship Manager at HSBC Bank, and International Belgian based Capital Markets Company. Building trust is the foundation of relationships. 

Community service includes working with Rotary, American Legion and Habitat for Humanity in California, New York and Florida. Educational Conference facilitator “Narrowing the Gap in Education” at Los Medanos College, Student Mentoring, Chair of Bond Oversight Committee for modernization of schools at PUSD,  District Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee (DEEOAC) for Community College District, Member of Contra Costa Taxpayers Association. Recognized as 2020 Cesar Chavez Award for Exemplary Community Service by Los Medanos College. Provided transformational motivation workshops at Los Medanos College and at high schools in the Central Valley. As a published author on identity, inspiration, and achievement I continue to lecture at high schools and at the collegiate level. Learning is a life-long process and Education is a priority.

I will be an experienced voice for the community, an asset to the Board, an improve the working relationships throughout the District.
