Barney Hayes is the current councilmember for Ward 4, Position 1.
During his tenure as Council member, the City of Rogers has seen tremendous growth. He has guided the expansion of our city with a focus on:
- Public Safety
- Transportation and Infrastructure
- Quality of Life initiatives
Public safety is the top priority for Barney. With his experience and passion he has helped ensure our Police and Fire Departments have the resources to meet and exceed the requirements of national certification. Rogers is in the top ten percent of the state to have nationally accredited public safety departments. Most recently, with Barney’s support the fire department was able to secure advanced cardiac monitors strategically placed in fire stations that do not have ambulatory services assigned.
The city has been focused on developing an infrastructure to support the needs of the community. In addition to expanding roads and highways, Barney has helped guide the city on fiscally planning ahead to meet the needs of the expected growth. With the expansion and a smart approach on re-zoning, he has prepared the city to continue on the path of sustainable growth.
As a family man and friend, Barney has a focus on quality-of-life initiatives. From trail expansions, to the newly designed city parks and the revitalized Lake Atalanta amenities, there is an outdoor resource welcoming to all residents. With a passion for sports, Veterans Park and Northwest Park will continue to be a focus to ensure we have safe and quality facilities. The Adult Wellness Center is a sense of pride for him, as it provides an affordable option for senior adults seeking health and wellness options and a place of community.
His experience and passion for the community makes Barney the person for the job. We have amazing opportunities before us and his experience and perspective will continue to help guide the city on the right path.
