I am a champion for public education and I understand the critical role public schools play in our democracy.

My family and I have lived in Redmond for more than 20 years and I am so proud to call Redmond my home. Both my sons graduated from Redmond schools and I am deeply invested in this community.

My priorities stem from my commitment to improving outcomes for every student. Asking the questions how will a policy or program improve outcomes should be the guiding principle that drives all school board decisions.

  • Meeting the needs of every student

Every student deserves the education they need and individual needs vary from student to student. Whether a student is enrolled in AP courses, learning English as a second language, navigating homelessness or on an IEP, our schools should be prepared to meet students where they are and for who they are to prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

  • Safe schools

Students and staff deserve schools where they are able to engage in teaching and learning without fear. The bond that voters passed in 2020 provided resources for much needed safety improvements but we can do more, including utilizing risk assessment tools and supporting legislation like Alyssa’s Law.

  • Support for academic and intellectual freedom

Academic and intellectual freedom are the pillars of a robust education that allow teachers and students the opportunity to explore new ideas and concepts in the classroom.

I have been so honored to serve on the board for Redmond School District 2J. With your vote I hope to continue the work of improving outcomes for every student.
